Colonial Taverns' Role in the Revolution
Sons of Liberty
The Sons of Liberty were a group of shopkeepers and artisans who banded together to revolt against the Stamp Act during the summer of 1765. They formed together in Boston, Massachusetts, but quickly spread throughout the colonies. The Sons of Liberty would gather in colonial taverns to persuade people to join their revolt. They would come up to your table and insist for you to join their boycott of English goods.

Green Dragon Tavern
The Green Dragon Tavern is located in Boston, Massachusetts. It is still around today, serving food and drinks to the people of Boston. This tavern is where many of the founding fathers, such as John Hancock, and Samuel Adams joined by Paul Revere would hang out. It is believed the Boston Tea Party was actually planned out in the Green Dragon Tavern.
